Virginia Delegate Bob Marshall of Manassas has found a new explanation for why there are disabled children in the world — apparently they are God’s punishment to women for abortion. Nibble by nibble the reproductive rights of women are being carved away by the rising tide of ignorance and theocratic arrogance that is washing over America.
Virginia Delegate Marshall is now shocked... shocked... that people misunderstood him. What he actually means is he expressed his real feelings but was surprised that his words got picked up by the national media. Normally no one pays any attention to a state legislator, so he thought he could curry favor with the fundamentalist right and no one would pay any attention.
