SEATTLE — It could have been a cold war drama. The world watched this week as accusations and counter-accusations were thrown by the American and Russian governments about documents stolen during a hack of the Democratic National Committee and the email account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chair John Podesta.
The notion that public figures have any right to privacy appears to have been lost in the furore surrounding the story, stolen correspondence being bandied around in attempts to influence the outcome of one of the nastiest, most vitriolic US presidential campaigns in history.
Some have argued that as secretary of state, Hillary Clinton’s emails were fair game for hacking because had they not been held on a private server, they would have been subject to freedom of information requests and available to the general public.
There may be some truth to that, but it […]
Never mind the electorate. The people who are running the system are very naive about the cyberthreat. Read Richard Clarke’s “Cyber War” to get up to speed. The DNC paid his company $60,000 for a security review and then did nothing about the findings. The fact that Hillary was dumb enough to set up a private server disqualifies her from being POTUS.
from what I’ve researched, uncovered, the many lies told to the American public, the failed rule of our government by the Clinton/Bush/Rockerfeller/others have destroyed our democracy. It seems the USSR, China factions are trying to right the systems to work for everyone, US as well as globally. In this sense hacking those systems & people of destruction is helpful at this time. As for Hillary’s 1700 emails; they should be exposed to the public, especially if US money was laundered thru the Clinton Foundation to support Isis in Libya, Syria, Lebanon…….which is what is being told. We are all waiting for the day there is consciousness, collaboration on this Planet; & without activists, underground reporters seeking the truth, we loose this beautiful Earth & Humanity.
