Donald Trump has promised to unleash an energy revolution by extracting billions of dollars in untapped fossil fuels and gutting incentives to invest in renewable energy. With the nominations of Rex Tillerson, Scott Pruitt, Ryan Zinke, and Rick Perry to his Cabinet, the President-elect is poised to do more damage to America’s environmental legacy—and future—than any other leader in recent memory.
Despite Trump’s untraditional approach to choosing Cabinet officials, nothing about their nomination is accidental. Each of them offers a range of qualifications and connections that, together, form a unified front against climate progress, human health, and energy security.

With Trump’s earlier nomination of Pruitt, a fossil fuel-friendly politician, Trump decided to quit with the subtlety and nominated a literal oil magnate, ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson, to serve as Secretary of State. While much of the early opposition to Tillerson’s nomination has focused on his close ties to Russia—Tillerson received the Russian “Order of Friendship” from Vladimir Putin—Tillerson’s potential to do lasting damage to […]
Ignorance must be bliss. All these ignorant people do not understand that using fossil fuels to heat your home means most of the heat heat is wasted as it goes up your chimny and is wasted energy, whereas all the energy from solar or wind technology is used in those types of heating systems, and there is no waste. Solar and wind is the source of the future, and a clean one at that. I wish I was ignorant like these fools, then maybe I wouldn’t be so angry at their proposals.
The only saving grace is the current market conditions have driven the price of oil to levels that make large investments unprofitable. Between world economies slowing, fracking oil abundance and big increases in alternative energy sources (Texas is the largest wind generator in the country) there is more oil than can be burned. Tank farms in OK are full to overflowing. Tanker ships floating offshore loaded with no where to unload.
Here you go again, Stephen…
If you want to create a different reality… you don’t concentrate on what is…
That’s the illusion of the moment. Yes! It’s real… but YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN TOMORROW.
However… if we would all concentrate and focus on our INTENT of visualizing a President Trump and his ??? iffy pro-oil cabinet to have a EPIPHANY (Oh! that’s January 6th!!!) and for some unknown reason… swerve the productivity and concentration on ways to curve DEPENDENCY on oil…
We might just succeed in re-creating a different illusion…
Remember… there was NO WAY Mr. Trump could ever be voted as our next President…Hillary Clinton was sure to take the presidency at 95%…
Let’s try to focus on swerving the reality… simply through CHOOSING what we would like to see happening. Not rant and rave about what is the reality we’re facing at the moment…
Let’s try it…
Gabriel —
This is the second time you have written to scold me and while I appreciate the sentiment you just don’t seem to get what I am doing here. I report on fact based trends that are shaping the future not wishes or desires as to how I think things ought to be. If a trend is good news I say that; if it is not I say that. But in all instances I try to report the facts as they are.

Ah yes, Gabriel. I have met this new age thought back in the early 90’s. I bought in to some degree and observed that is helps the process along if you discredit others who fail to understand that we create our own reality. This reality creation should put one at the center pronouncing positive expansive thoughts reminding others that negative contractive thoughts will produce the reality that no truly loving conscious person desires. This frees one from the need to see/deal with current and projected realities and to show how aware/enlightened one truly is. It as if the weather service shows that you are likely in the path of a cat 5 hurricane and you being the powerful reality creator say too much negativity. I WILL dis-create and recreate sunny happy days for all. To me that is BS. There are forces/trends/behaviors/karma far greater than your puny personal reality creation. It you don’t endeavor to see the world/life the way it is then how can you wisely, creatively respond?
One final thought Gabriel. I have given a great deal of thought and spent many hours doing research on how to create social wellness. You should read my book, The 8 Laws of Change. It’s all in there, and it is all based on science and history.
