The expected rollback to federal climate science has begun.
In its preliminary budget proposal, the Trump administration has targeted environmental protections and climate change research. And while the cuts are essentially an opening salvo in what promises to be a fight with Congress once the budget requests formally arrive, they also demonstrate the level of hostility many scientists feared their work would face from the White House.
The administration is seeking a nearly 20 percent cut to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s budget, including to its satellite division, The Washington Post reported. That includes significant cuts to the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, which has produced research that disproved the notion of a global warming pause. NOAA’s satellites provide invaluable data on climate change that are used by researchers throughout the world. The NOAA cuts target the Office of Ocean and Atmospheric Research, which conducts the bulk of the agency’s climate research.

Sad state of affairs we find us in today. By the time the R people complete their agenda we will have absolutely no other reason to exist other than feed the .01% all of our income and feed our children to their wars.
One of the unpleasant facts is that all of the climate models have over-estimated the amount of warming compared to the actual measurements over the last 10-15 years.
Another unpleasant fact is that there hasn’t been any warming for a number of years. If you smooth that data enough you can hide that.
Another unpleasant fact is that when they say “warmest in 137 years” they are also saying that they are only looking at data starting from the end of the Maunder Minimum.
Another unpleasant fact is that the effect of the sun far outweighs anything humans do.
Another unpleasant fact is that in the remote past the climate has been warmer (European Warming Period) and CO2 levels (ice core data) have been higher than they are now.
A lot of people have gotten paychecks for a long time from promoting human-only warming and of course they are terrified of having their funding cut off.

The animals at both poles are rapidly dying off because the goddamn ICE is melting, which has NOTHING to do with anybody’s science PAYCHECKS! How stupid can THAT be??? Anyone who believes science and education should be defunded is almost as big an ignorANUS than #45.
Thanks sk now I know how the thousands of climate researchers worldwide have been getting rich off fabricating a hoax. Amazing that news reports with video comparing years before and current ice fields at the poles and in the mountains showing dramatic changes are fake!? Believe what you will, view your data how you will, but were I you I’d sell that coastal property before the market discovers that ocean level rise thingy.
This inability to view current reality as it is instead of projecting our beliefs on to the natural world will lead to great collective suffering. The world is changing and at this point there nothing that will stop it. Wise leadership is needed to prepare for this situation that is coming faster than most have been predicting. Stop blaming, shaming, demonizing and fault-finding, that time has passed. Deal with what is! We have the collective skills to mitigate, protect and over the long term help the planet rebalance, but only if we get that we are all in this together.
Any advanced alien civilization who looked at our planet would see that the human species is a biological infestation that does not know how to control it’s population and for that reason humans are destroying the planet and all life on it. It should be quite obvious to anyone with a view based upon the facts.
