Jesus has been described as the best known figure in history, and also the least known. If you mentioned the name “Jesus” and someone asked Jesus who?, you might blink. Or laugh. Even people who don’t think Jesus was God, mostly believe they know a fair bit about him. You might be surprised that some of your most basic assumptions about Jesus are probably wrong.
We have no record of anything that was written about Jesus by eyewitnesses or other contemporaries during the time he would have lived or for decades thereafter, and as best scientists can tell, all physical relics of his life are later fakes. Nonetheless, based on archeological digs and artifacts, ancient texts and art, linguistic patterns, and even forensic science, we know a good deal about the time and culture in which the New Testament is set. This evidence points to some startling conclusions about who Jesus likely was—and wasn’t.

I started studying religion by studying under Professor Charles Kimball from the University of Oklahoma where I learned about Comparative Religion in two of his courses. In Them I learned how religions tended to separate people instead of drawing them together as a “we” instead of an “us and them” type of morality.
Then I delved deeper into the scholarly pursuit of Christianity under Professor Bart D. Ehrman, Ph.D., who is head of the Religious studies at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. That is when I learned that all of the statements in the proceeding article are true and more than that, that the American Christians are living under an illusion of Jesus and of God and even more importantly what God is. The normal “Christian” I meet usually doesn’t even know any scholarly facts about the Christian Bible, and live by faith alone and to not realize that it their deeds which are much more important than their faith. Then, after reading Dr. Ehrman’s many books such as “Forged” and “Misquoting Jesus” and “God’s Problem”, etc., I developed a much greater understanding of Christianity, and that understanding changed my view 180 degrees on the subject. I feel that a thorough understanding of God can only be understood by reading more about science after a thorough look at the various religions of the world. I would suggest that keep reading, especially Pim Van Lommel’s great book ” Consciousness Beyond Life” and “One Mind” by Larry Dossey and Amit Goswami’s “Physics of the Soul” to name just three of the many fascinating books about God, the Universe and everything in it. A person cannot know anything about life if they only read the Bible and nothing else.
Ignorance is it’s own punishment
Wisdom is it’s own reward
The White House categorizes all articles like this as “fake news” so as to not to upset “the base” It has always amazed me so many people can be brainwashed into accepting the Bible as the literal and absolute truth, there is no reasoning with them
