The Trump administration did not rise, prima facie, like Venus on a half shell from the sea. Donald Trump is the result of a long process of political, cultural and social decay. He is a product of our failed democracy. The longer we perpetuate the fiction that we live in a functioning democracy, that Trump and the political mutations around him are somehow an aberrant deviation that can be vanquished in the next election, the more we will hurtle toward tyranny. The problem is not Trump. It is a political system, dominated by corporate power and the mandarins of the two major political parties, in which we don’t count. We will wrest back political control by dismantling the corporate state, and this means massive and sustained civil disobedience, like that demonstrated by teachers around the country this year. If we do not stand up we will enter a new dark age.
The Democratic Party, which helped build our system of inverted totalitarianism, is once again held up by many on […]
Stephan, years ago when I read your book: Opening To The Infinite, you introduced me to the concept of the non-local consciousness. At the time, I was well aware of the ancient Chinese symbol of Taoism the Yin/Yang circle of existence. I even made a sculpture to that effect. As I witness the school shootings, the Killing of Gaza, the Toronto van attack etc., what I am now witnessing is the non-local unconscious in action.
In 1999 I was introduced to the concept of the 6th mass extinction by Brain Swimme and Fr. Thomas Berry. Scientists were little aware of this phenomenon. Many thought it only meant the mega fauna such as elephants, tigers, etc. Humans were, mostly unaware and even worse, humans were mostly unaware that they were the cause of all this. Now we are.
As I speak with family members and social friends, those who have never taken an interest in ecology, spirituality, or politics, all of a sudden there is a new awareness of; “Oh dear, we’re in this too.”
There was a tagline of the David Suzuki Foundation years ago that stated: “Solutions were in our nature”. I have reviewed the literature and have posted wherever I can that people have forgotten their innate power that was easily displayed for all to see in 1993 during the Washington DC TM murder mediation sit-in, where the murder rate decreased by 23% over a 3-1/2 week period as evidenced later by the mayor.
How do people like you, Mark Brady and those from the S.A.N.D. community, organize this on a mass scale through the NET around our mother Gaia and quickly? There is hope, but, as the old Russian cliché goes when there’s trouble, Pray to God, but row for shore. Sadly we are doing neither as a species.

I wrote a book, the 8 Laws of Change, to specifically answer your question. It is an approach which the social outcome research data shows actually works.

this article makes me want to plan ahead for a dystopian future. Where to move to?
Maybe you could ask your loyal readers where they would move and why, assuming they could, in order to have the best outcome if the worst happens?
Discrimination of our economic system is something very few discuss even though it is the root of the problems we have in this country; especially in our schools and in our news agencies where it could bring light to the subject so all could see the problems with unbridled, systemic neoliberalism and the lack of democracy within them.
