Longtime conservative columnist George Will is making a case against voting for Republicans in November’s 2018 midterm elections, arguing that House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and other GOP members of Congress “have become the president’s poodles.”
In a column published Friday in The Washington Post, Will lamented “Republican misrule,” and criticized lawmakers for “hav[ing] no higher ambition than to placate the president.”
“The Republican-controlled Congress, which waited for Trump to undo by unilateral decree the border folly they could have prevented by actually legislating, is an advertisement for the unimportance of Republican control,” Will wrote.
Sadly George Will’s voice has little sway anymore. Most few republicans likely to listen to him already figures out on their own not to support Trump & his zombie followers in Congress.
Not to mention that Will was Reagan’s poodle.
I was shocked this week to learn how many internment camps are in our country already, and have been for years! Now #45 (I refuse to use his name or title), plans to build more. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my tax dollars used to cage people while that money could be used to feed hungry children in our communities.
True immigration reform is desperately needed but I don’t think it will ever be done by the HEARTLESS lawmakers in congress. We must vote them out in the midterms and get rid of despicable #45 in 2020.
Where are all the Christian and Evangelical folks who were so proud to vote for this horrible man. Why are they so silent now?
I fear for the future of country.
