In the immediate aftermath of last week’s white nationalist terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand that took the lives of 49 people, U.S. president minimized the scale of the problem, proclaiming that there is no systematic issue: “I think it’s a small group of people that have very, very serious problems.”
This, however, is exactly the kind of denial and deflection that the West had criticized so forcefully when it came from Sunni Arab countries after 9/11.
Ever since the early [aughts] 2000s, the U.S. and Europe have rightly pressed a number of Sunni Arab countries to crack down on the internal sources of Islamist terrorism, arguing that their inaction on domestic extremism was putting both their own societies and people around the world at risk. There is a non-local consciousness as well as a non-local unconsciousness. One cannot exist without the other. The Taoist Yin/Yang, the oldest religious/philosophical icon states this explicitly. It’s always ‘both/and’ not ‘either/or’. We are both human & being.

When it’s hot some folks go mad. Know your neighbours by speaking with them. Do more mano a mano and leave the typing to others. Yes, strong men like #45, are by implication, inciting others to riot through their unchecked language.
None of these is isolated one from t’other. Existence = entanglement. It is the quantum field’s method of energetic manifestation. Then there’s civilization, where apathy, stupit consumerism, going along to get along, avoidance and lethargy seem to be the order of the day; ‘cept for the young people protesting the abrupt climate change sure to visit in their future. Therein lies the real encouragement. I hesitate to use the word hope.
Kudos to Greta!
