President Trump has faced significant criticism for his immigration policy, yet the administration has managed to find a friend on this issue in the Supreme Court. The nation’s highest court decided that ICE may detain immigrants indefinitely while awaiting deportation proceedings.
As a consequence, ICE can continue putting any immigrant — legal or undocumented — into a detention center for perhaps years at a time if the individual has ever committed a crime. Not only is there no timeline for how long immigrants can be held in these centers, but immigrants can also be apprehended years after the crimes — even relatively minor ones — without warning.

What you’re saying is possible, but I’m one of those people who refuses to believe there is ABSOLUTLEY no possibility that this could change, especially in this period of unexpected change. If Dems take back the Senate which is VERY possible, Kavanaugh may be forced out. He’s under investigation. There’s been discussion of adding a justice, which again, could happen if Senate and House are in control of the Dems. So many ifs.
Meanwhile here in the homeland of the free and home of the brave we continue to devolve into dictatorship. Will it become like WWII Europe with the Gestapo (ICE) routinely demanding “your papers” to prove you are native born? Even “native born” is being challenged in south Texas with the government claiming some birth certificates are fraudulent. Is this how ethnic cleansing begins to develop?
