As of Friday, more than 900,000 people in the United States have died of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.Experts believe the true burden of disease to be much higher. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the number of Covid-19 deaths in the US was about 32% higher than reported between February 2020 and September 2021.For the past two weeks, there have been more than 2,000 new Covid-19 deaths reported each day in the US, according to Johns Hopkins.

The problem with MAGAt world, Anti-vaxxers, and Anti-maskers, besides willful ignorance, is that they don’t/won’t understand two things.
1. The world doesn’t revolve around them.
2. They don’t have the “right” to get others sick – including innocent children.
I offer a third reason for high number of deaths: obesity and morbid obesity and their concurrent conditions such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular issues. Northern European countries have high incidence of overweight but much fewer obese and very few morbidly obese people. This is not fat shaming.
Another reason for higher numbers of deaths than necessary is that no one in charge is recommending Vitamin D, the deficiency of which seems deadly. It is cheap and efficacious against death from COVID. No one makes money prescribing Vitamin D. So no profit in our for profit system.
