Steve Bannon celebrates Axios report outlining Trump’s plan to “radically reshape the federal government” if reelected in 2024

Stephan:  Steve Bannon, who is incapable of keeping his mouth shut, makes it very clear what Trump has in mind should he be re-elected. It is straight-out fascism.

Former Trump aide Steve Bannon is celebrating new reporting from Axios’ Jonathan Swan outlining Donald Trump’s plan to “radically reshape the federal government” if he is reelected in 2024. The report describes Trump’s blueprint to remove thousands of nonpartisan civil servant positions and replace them with far-right Trump devotees – an effort Bannon cheered for targeting “the heart of the beast” and going to “war with the administrative state.”

As detailed in the Axios story, the center of Trump’s plan is to immediately reimpose his “Schedule F” executive order if reelected. The order would place thousands of civil servant workers into a new employment category, allowing these positions to be fireable by the executive branch and stripping these workers of full employee protections. Trump plans to replace employees in the State Department and the intelligence community “as a matter of top priority.”

Excerpts from Trump’s speech released before his appearance at this weekend’s Turning Point USA Student Action summit included remarks touting Schedule F. And Trump stated during a South Carolina rally in March that he hopes to “pass critical reforms making every executive branch employee fireable by the president of the United States.” […]

Dem blasts ‘insane’ GOP bill that would authorize ‘deadly force’ to stop abortions in North Carolina

Stephan:  This is how crazy and violent the anti-choice MAGAt community has become. What I am seeing is more and more references from Republicans promoting violence. It is coming from every quarter of MAGAt world. These people are gearing up for violence, and I increasingly expect we will see civil violence in November.

A Democratic state senator from North Carolina this week shined a light on a bill proposed by his Republican colleagues that he described as “completely insane” because it would authorize using “deadly force” to stop people in the state from getting abortions.

In a video posted on his social media accounts, North Carolina State Sen. Jeff Jackson drew attention to North Carolina House Bill 158 a piece of legislation drafted last year that extends the rights of personhood to fetuses and says that “any person who willfully seeks to destroy the life of another person, by any means, at any stage of life, or succeeds in doing so, shall be held accountable for attempted murder or for first degree murder, respectively.”

The bill goes on to say that “any person has the right to defend his or her own life or the life of another person, even by the use of deadly force if necessary, from willful destruction by another person,” which implies that any citizen […]

Hungary’s leader Viktor Orbán bashed Western Europeans for ‘mixing with non-Europeans’ and said Hungarians ‘do not want to become a mixed race’

Stephan:  The other day I ran a piece telling you that the Republican Party had invited Viktor Orbán, an explicit fascist authoritarian to be the keynote speaker at the party's most important conference. It was like inviting Hitler, if he were alive, to speak at an American political conference. How bad is Orban? Read this and see for yourself. This is where the Republican Party is intellectually. It is a party of White supremacy, male dominant, Christian nationalism.

  • Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán  bashed the comingling of Europeans with non-Europeans.
  • Orbán said in a Saturday speech that Hungarians “don’t want to be a mixed race.”
  • The authoritarian leader regards Putin as an ally and was endorsed by Trump.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that his country’s citizens have no interest in fraternizing with non-Europeans, according to Radio Free Europe.

Orbán idealized an “unmixed Hungarian race” while speaking at Baile Tusnad Summer University located in central Romania on Saturday. He argued that Europeans should not mix with “non-Europeans.”

“We move, we work elsewhere, we mix within Europe,” he said. “But we don’t want to be a mixed race” or a “multiethnic” group, he added.

The conservative prime minister also argued that “the west is split in two,” according to Daily News Hungary

Hungary’s PM Orban claims Western sanctions on Russia have failed.

Half, he said, are countries where European and non-European people intermingle. “Those countries are […]

Thiel drops another $1.5M for Masters as campaign feels cash pinch

Stephan:  I keep talking about the corruption of American politics, and the open whoring that has corrupted both houses of Congress. Here is an example of what I mean. Multi-billionaire fascist oligarch Peter Thiel is trying to buy a Senate seat for a christofascist. Are the people of Arizona smart enough to understand what is going on? I doubt it.

Billionaire Peter Thiel’s support for Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters has now grown to $15 million as the venture capitalist and tech entrepreneur continued this month to pour money into the race to boost Masters’ cash-strapped campaign.

Thiel made an additional $1.5 million donation to the pro-Masters Saving Arizona super PAC on July 7, according to a Thursday filing with the Federal Election Commission. Masters’ own campaign has been significantly outspent on television by Republican primary opponent Jim Lamon, but the super PAC and other outside groups have spent heavily on his behalf to make up the gap. Masters has surged to the lead in public polling of the race for the GOP nomination with the help of Thiel’s super PAC funds and an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.

Masters is scheduled to appear at a rally with the former president Friday night in Prescott Valley, an event designed to boost several Trump-endorsed candidates […]

On the campaign trail, many Republicans talk of violence

Stephan:  The Republican Party's candidates are motivating the party's racist base by talking about civil violence, as this article describes. The Republicans do not want a democracy, and they are gearing up their followers who are obsessed with guns and heavily armed, to prepare for violence. I would take this quite seriously. We are splitting into two countries. For this to be avoided the Democrats must win significantly expanded majorities in both houses of Congress. It will give democracy a chance, and there will be climate change remediation. It won't end the schism, but it will allow it to be worked out without so much violence. I don't think we are going to be one country again, at least not until 2040-2045.

Days before Maryland’s July 19 primary, Republican candidate for State Attorney General, Michael Peroutka stood up at an Italian restaurant in Rockville and imagined how a foreign enemy might attack America.

“We would expect them to make our borders porous,” Peroutka told the crowd, which had come to hear the Republicans running for state attorney general. “We would expect them to make our cities unsafe places to live. We would expect them to try to ruin our economy.” The country was “at war,” he explained, “and the enemy has co-opted members and agencies and agents of our government.”

On Tuesday, Peroutka easily dispatched a more moderate Republican to win the nomination. State Del. Dan Cox, who won Donald Trump’s endorsement after supporting the former president’s effort to subvert the 2020 election, also dispatched a Republican endorsed by the state’s popular governor, Larry […]
