A Republican candidate for the House from St. Augustine is banned from Twitter after advocating violence against the federal government. HD 20s Luis Miguel is still on Instagram though.
Republican Luis Miguel, running against incumbent Rep. Bobby Payne of Palatka in the redrawn House District 20, was suspended from Twitter after a tweet advocating that Floridians should be able to shoot federal agents on sight.
“Under my plan, all Floridians will be able to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF, and all other federal troops on sight,” Miguel tweeted. “Let freedom ring.”
Miguel told Florida Politics Friday the suspension, which is “permanent” per a message he got on his Twitter app, “doesn’t affect (him) at all.” He stands by the proposal, which he says is justified because the IRS has been “weaponized by dissident forces.”
Miguel is still active on Instagram, where the post advocating shooting federal agents is still displayed, amid a host of other hateful graphics mourning the loss of confederate statues (“Southern memories,” he called them), advocating “complete enforcement” of the Stop Woke Act, and other such shout-outs to the populist right.

This Luis Miguel is insane!
It truly is a shame, Stephan, how political you are. As an intellectual, I am sure you think you are above the toxicity of politics…you likely assume that you are not influenced by political biases…but oh my god…you are insanely political and it tarnishes the research and data that you have access to. Democrats in general are just as terrible as Republicans. But even speaking in generalities like that, ignores that by saying that, we are lumping literally hundreds of millions of people into a generic stereotype. I expect that from idiots…I was surprised to see someone like yourself brought down to that low level.
You are completely misreading me, Jordan. My only interest in partisan politics is anthropological. What I care about is objectively verifiable social outcome data and fostering wellbeing. My problem with the Republican Party, which you see as partisanship, is simply that their approach to governance is inferior, produces inferior social outcome data, and is inferior in fostering wellbeing. If they were named the Pumpkin Party I would have the same view.
