But with scenes of American street violence crowding Twitter feeds and news broadcasts, manufacturers have been flooded with orders from concerned everyday citizens.
“It’s been pretty shocking,” said Mark Burton of Utah-based Armormax, one of the world’s largest auto bulletproofing companies. “I would say it really started about 18 months ago. It used to be politicians and CEOs. Almost all international. Now we ‘re bulletproofing Honda Accords.”

This morning, as I was doing my first media survey looking for trend data I came across this article about Charlies Kirk, a prominent MAGAt spokesperson. I paid attention to it because a few days ago I had published a remarkably stupid comment he had made about the 2nd Amendment. As I was reading this, I had CNN on the television screen on my desk and heard the story about a 6-year-old girl and her father who were both shot by a MAGAt cretin next door when their basketball rolled into his yard. They then went on to mention the black teenager shot when he knocked on a MAGAts door, the cheerleader shot in a grocery store parking lot when she went to the wrong girl, and the young woman who was murdered when she pulled into a driveway to turn around — something I have done countless times. It left me thinking about how we got this sick. Certainly, it is the number of guns, but they’re just the instruments, it is the consciousness cultivated in our culture. And who is doing that, Spend an hour watching FOX propaganda and you will get your answer. They push endless commentary about how crime is out of control, most of it is committed by Black or Brown young men, the “libs” are out to get you and destroy your life. It isn’t just that it is all lies, I think, the real issue is the cultivation of fear, racism, and resentment. Fox and the lesser demons of MAGAt media are literally destroying the wellbeing of American culture in order to make great profits.

Charlie Kirk, the conservative founder and president of Turning Point USA, said during an organizational event on Wednesday that gun deaths in exchange for the preservation of Second Amendment rights is part of America’s reality.
Kirk’s comments come about one week after three children and three adults were killed at the Christian Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Nashville mass shooting was the 130th mass shooting in the United States in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive, an online database of gun violence incidents across America using data collected from law enforcement, media, government and commercial sources.

If you read me regularly you know my prediction that as a result of the Dobbs decision and what Republicans have done in the states they control people, particularly young women would begin to make enrollment decisions about whether to attend colleges in Red states where women don’t have the right to control their own bodies and would choose other options in Blue states. Well, it’s happening. And the effect will be to further degrade the quality of life for the people in Red states. What I really don’t get is the stupidity of the Republican politicians who have pushed these laws. The only thing I can conclude is that they think that through gerrymandering, voter suppression, and the ignorance and fear of MAGAt White voters poisoned mentally by Fox and the other MAGAt media they believe they can retain power. And power is what they care about. I think they have made a massive mistake, if only the Democrats can get their act together, and if all of us who care about democracy, gender equality, and wellbeing get out and vote in 2024, leaving the Democrats in control of both Houses of Congress, and the Presidency.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — According to a new study from Lumina Foundation and Gallup, nearly three-quarters of currently enrolled college students (72%) report that the reproductive health laws in the state where their college is located are at least somewhat important to their decision to stay enrolled. A smaller majority of unenrolled U.S. adults, aged 18 to 59, who do not have a degree (60%) say these laws are at least somewhat important to their decision to enroll in a specific college or university.
These findings come from the Lumina Foundation-Gallup State of Higher Education 2022 study, conducted Oct. 26-Nov. 17, 2022. Results are based on web survey responses from 6,008 U.S. adults currently enrolled in an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, certificate or certification program, and 6,007 U.S. adults aged 18 to 59 who are not currently enrolled in such a program. About half of the unenrolled adults surveyed have no prior college experience, while the rest have attended some college but have not earned a degree.

Judicial Watch (JW), a deeply conservative 29-year-old Washington, D.C.-based group that describes itself as a “non-partisan education foundation,” asserts that our military is “headed down the dark alley of anti-American wokeism.”
This conclusion, JW Executive Director Tom Fitton wrote in a March press release, follows a September 2022 Freedom of Information Act request that provided the group with 167 pages of documents. Included was a description of Behavioral Science 362, a required class about the impact of class, race, gender and sexuality on human development.
Neither Judicial Watch nor Fitton think that these topics have any place in military instruction. What’s more, they argue that the course is proof that the U.S. military is succumbing to “Marxist” critical race theory, or CRT.
