Stephan:   One of the things that has really stood out for me over the past weeks of primaries are the profiles of men and women running under one party's banner. Here's one example of what I mean, but it is far from the only one. To cite three more, a North Dakota  secretary of state nominee, Will Gardner, who won 93% of the vote just took himself out of the running because he was charged as a peeping tom. South Dakota state Representative Michael Clark is arguing for segregation. In Virginia alt-right hero  Corey Stewart just won his primary. Do I need to tell you they are all Republicans? Probably not. Don't you find that significant? I do.

Dennis Hof, the 71-year-old brothel owner who describes himself as the “Barnum of Booty”, is now the Republican nominee for a Nevada state assembly seat. Hof defeated the incumbent, James Oscarson, who had served three terms, in Tuesday’s primary and now has a good chance of beating Democrat Lesia Romanov in November and holding political office in Nevada.

Hof, who goes by a number of nicknames including “America’s pimpmaster general”, owns seven legal brothels in Nevada, including the famous Moonlite BunnyRanch. His nomination comes as activists in Nye and Lyon counties, which have 40% of the state’s brothels, are petitioning to put an end to legalized prostitution.
