The Trump administration may have separated thousands of migrant children from their parents at the border for up to a year before family separation was a publicly known practice, according to a stunning government review of the health department’s role in family separation.
A report by the health department’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) published on Thursday said officials at the health department estimated “thousands of separated children” were put in health department care before a court order in June 2018 ordered the reunification of 2,600 other children.
“The total number of children separated from a parent or guardian by immigration authorities is unknown,” the report said.
This report shows that not only did the US government probably separate thousands more children from their parents than previously thought, but it was separating families […]
This immigration policy is a disgrace, to say the least. What is also a disgrace is what has been going on for decades to American citizens who have their families separated in the foster system which is run by people who separate families on very thin, invalid reasons because the people that run the foster system only make their money by separating more and more families many times for reasons which they make up and are untrue, just so they can keep their jobs. These people do not care about the families, and neither do those foster families who sometimes just do it because they get paid a nice salary for taking care of the children. Sometimes the children even get into homes where they are molested, and the system is never held to blame. It is never acceptable to take children from their parents, no matter what the circumstances are!
