During the Wednesday, July 25, segment of Fox News’ The Five, the conservative co-hosts Jesse Watters, Jeanine Pirro, Dana Perino and Greg Gutfeld suggested Mexican drug cartels are behind a shoplifting surge in America, and to combat the alleged issue — the U.S. military should bomb them.
Host Jesse Watters began the conversation saying, “While the liberal media gets a crash course on crime, we’re learning that Mexican drug cartels are fueling America’s shoplifting surge. They’re selling the stolen stuff online and then laundering the profits through, guess where? Chinese brokers. So, Dana, CNN finally discovered crime is a crisis in San Francisco.”
Dana Perino replied, “This is after they made fun of us for pointing it out last year…On this point, I think that finding out that there are Mexican cartels behind this, makes me feel maybe there’s hope that we could figure out a way to do something about it. So the state attorneys general are banding together and they’re like let’s go after it. But also they need […]
It is time to see this article within its appropriate context. The American Empire has run roughshod over the national sovereignty of a couple of dozen countries over the past 60 years. We have bombed, invaded, and sanctioned populations causing untold death and misery. One example, recently highlighted on NPR: a civilian attempting to obtain compensation from the US government because he was shot by the US military while special forces were attempting to capture or kill the head of ISIS in Syria. Never even considered in the story is that our attack on the soil of a foreign land is an act of war. Never mentioned, nor would you expect it to be mentioned. It’s just assumed that the Empire has the right to do this because we have to force to do this. The above article reflects the same logic. This logic should not be surprising, it should be expected.
I was in the Army many years ago and knew many people of Mexican decent who were my best friends and hard workers, and stood beside American fighters during the VietNam war. Mexicans are our friends!
P.S. No country I live in is going to bomb my friends and their relatives in Mexico or I will leave it if they do, not without first exposing the corruption which exists within our government, which is corrupt!
