Despite Florida governor and 2024 presidential candidate Ron DeSantis’ claim that he is a “champion for ‘medical freedom‘, by “defying federal health guidance to advise Floridians against taking new Covid-19 booster shots,” a $152,000 “settlement over withheld Covid-19 data that critics say cost thousands of lives” could tank his campaign, The Guardian reports.
Per The Guardian, “Critics dubbed DeSantis ‘the Pied Piper of Covid, leading everybody off a cliff’, as he forged ahead with an executive order banning mask mandates in schools, having already signed legislation awarding himself veto power over coronavirus mandates set by municipalities.”

What is a surprise is that only $ 152,000 was awarded in a court case for the state of Florida not providing public information on COVID. The greater concern should be the huge numbers of people who died because DeSantis (also known as DeathSantis) constantly encouraged people NOT to wear masks, to open schools (no masks), chastising students who did wear masks, appointing a totally incompetent surgeon general who spread conspiracy theories about not taking the vaccines and instead using very controversial attempts to cure COVID. No, this guy belongs in the White House as much as an ignorant idiot does! He’s helped to ban books, re-write Black history—-leaving out the terrible parts of slavery, etc. etc. It’s mainly surprising that lawsuits haven’t been filed against him by those families who had people who died from listening to this governor! But the state did set aside
$16,000,000 to handle lawsuits that they knew were coming down the pike. Think carefully about voting next time!
