My computer was attacked in the night by a hacker, and the damage was so bad I have to get a new one. Right now the repair technician is trying to see whether the Time Machine was also attacked because, if so, I have lost 30 years of work. This has become an increasing problem as MAGAts and other fascists who do not like the facts I find and publish attack SR. We had over 7,000 hacking attempts in 2023, and it has started again. Now they have attacked my personal computer. I apologizes for the interruption and hope to be back up and operating by Monday.

I greater immunity for hacking is provided by Linux, Ubuntu for example. Ubuntu provides all the necessary things you would want to do on the internet. Try to install it on your now defunct Apple PC.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. That is one of my biggest fears that someone would do this to my computer and I’m too ignorant about computers to stop it.

Off-site backup on removable media for ANYTHING important. Not “the cloud” only but physical media stored where no one but you would suspect. It’s not just hackers, but fire, flood, etc. can damage a computer.

So sorry to hear of your hacking! I have several thousand of your daily emails archived, should you need them, and I’m sure many of other followers can fill any blanks if you find you have lost content. At least the text of your books is safe in ebook format on Amazon and/or your other publishers. Compare notes with Whitley Strieber, as his own computers and websites have been under intense attack for many years, and he’s learned the hard way how to add many layers of protection. Any lessons that can be shared with the rest of us would be helpful, as I imagine most of us are deeply involved with the same political struggle as you to defend our democracy from local level and up. Please take it as a badge of honor and keep the faith! You site has inspired so many, and I’m sure will continue to do so in this pivotal year and forward! And we are all part of your work these last 30 years, which endures and cannot be erased!
