A whopping 65% of Democrats believe President Biden should withdraw from the 2024 presidential race and let the party pick a different nominee, according to an AP-Norc poll out Wednesday.
Why it matters: The findings add more evidence to the damage done by Biden’s disastrous debate performance last month, which highlighted longstanding concerns about his age and fitness for office.
- The results based on a survey of 1,253 adults also fly in the face of Biden’s own claim that the “average voter” wants him to stay in the race.
The big picture: Overall, 70% of U.S. voters want Biden to withdraw from the 2024 race, while only 57% want to see former President Trump withdraw.

I trust and admire Adam Schiff who went to Bdien and asked him to step donwn. Pelosi asked him to step down. If he stays, he is endangering America’s future. In essence, everything he did that was good will be forgotten in the face of what he now needs to do. He’s handing the future over to Trump.
This should have been sorted out months ago. There is actually a process for this – they are called primaries. The empire managers currently running the Democrat party did not want to risk any challenge, so they cut out the voters and brooked no competition. Had they done so, the rank and file could have weighed in, with a much more vigorous candidate, but the party bosses have no interest in the opinions of the commoner. Now faced with massive defeat, the want to re-engineer the entire process before our eyes cutting out, once again, the rank and file. Oh, the party bosses are happy to have your vote, and even have you fix their car but they certainly don’t want you attending the cocktail party. You should know your place, don’t ya know. Should the so called “leaders” succeed in replacing Biden, they will have moved one step closer to inverted totalitarianism, where hollow forms remain, without any substance. The so called “leaders”will have demonstrated that you don’t need the voters. Just like the old days when party bosses selected the “best” candidate in smoke filled back rooms. Don’t believe that it is only the Republicans who want to turn back the clock. You are witnessing the Democrats do the same in front of your own eyes. Think outside the box.
I have no idea who these damn polls are contacting and where these Dem leaders are getting this idea that the people are not supporting Biden continuing in this race. My gut tells me that the Dem leaders are bowing to pressure from their wealthy donors and trying to force Biden out of the race for their own selfish benefit. What is the calculus for changing “horses” in the middle of the race? We’re in the seventh inning and NOW they want to start cannibalising!? I’m so frustrated with this party.
