IF YOU ENJOY SR AND FIND IT USEFUL WOULD YOU PLEASE DONATE
When I began Schwartzreport my purpose was to produce an entirely fact-based daily publication in favor of the earth, the inter-connectedness and interdependence of all life, democracy, equality for all, liberty, and things that are life-affirming. Also, to warn my readers about actions, events, and trends that threaten those values. Our country now stands at a crossroads, indeed, the world stands at a crossroads where those values are very much at risk and it is up to each of us who care about wellbeing to do what we can to defend those principles. I want to thank all of you who have contributed to SR, particularly those of you who have scheduled an ongoing monthly contribution. It makes a big difference and is much appreciated. It is one thing to put in the hours each day and to do the work for free, but another to have to cover the rising out-of-pocket costs. For those of you who haven’t done so, but read SR regularly, I ask that you consider supporting it.
Fascist Trump isn’t very bright (as anyone will conclude who actually examines the history of his life) but he is very greedy and obsessed with being in control. So part of the coup he and the Republicans are carrying out is to serve their petroleum oligarch funders and block any sensible preparation for climate change. That several hundred million Americans will suffer as a result of what the coup is doing, is of no interest to them.

The Trump administration has canceled $4 billion in U.S. pledges to the world’s largest climate fund — gutting a U.N. initiative helping over 100 countries adapt to the rapidly changing world.
“The government of the United States rescinds any outstanding pledges to the Green Climate Fund,” U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote to U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres in a note dated Jan. 27, parts of which were seen by POLITICO.
The climate fund confirmed the decision.
“We have been made aware that the United States of America has notified the United Nations of its decision to rescind outstanding pledges to the Green Climate Fund,” it said in a statement to POLITICO.
The move goes further than the first Trump Administration, which allowed pledges made by prior administrations to remain on the fund’s books. No other country has previously rescinded committed funds.
The U.S. State Department did not respond to a request for comment. A U.N. official declined to comment.
I have been telling you, my readers, as well as anyone else who was interested and would listen that between 2040-2045 there was going to be a cataclysmic change in humanity’s cultures, including the United States. (See YouTube searching on my name, or my personal website, where you can hear or read me expound on this, based on my 47-year-long remote viewing study involving about 5,000 men and women remote viewers. I am now writing a research report that will publish in June, and then will write a book on this subject (see my personal website where you can sign up to get a notice to order the book when it is published). Today a fellow scientist and colleague in a number of my studies, James Spottiswoode, sent me this article, which confirms what the Remote Viewers have been telling me since 1978. That’s only 15 years in our future, and that is why a premonition of fear is what caused “emperor” Trump’s election and the decline of democracies all over the world (see SR archives the paper on this). It is also why it is so essential that you — yes, you — speak out against the christofascist coup “emperor” Trump and his lieutenant Elon Musk are causing, and to which the entire “Republican Party” is acquiescing
A group of scientists have used a computer to try and establish exactly when society will collapse, and the results are rather daunting.
Unfortunately, for one group of scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), this includes trying to calculate when society will cease to exist.
Back in 1972, the team at MIT used computer modelling, which evaluated several data patterns relating to the likes of population, natural resources and energy use.
After carrying out their research, the study was published by the Club of Rome, with the upcoming ‘limits to growth’ highlighted as what would cause the eventual collapse of human society.
When did the study predict society would end?
So when did it predict the end of society as we know it?
Through this research, the team learned that the fall of society would hit near the midpoint of the 21st century. And yes, in case you’d forgotten, that’s the century we’re currently in the middle of.
One of the major goals of “emperor” Trump’s MAGAt coup is to do nothing to prepare the United States for climate change and to trap the nation in the carbon energy era with a “drill, baby… drill” policy to increase the profits of the petroleum oligarchs who helped buy his office for him. To that end, criminal Trump has attacked wind power as he said he would do, and it is having a major negative effect as this report describes. This is why Citizens United which legalized the bribery of politicians and authorized that their office could be bought for them is perhaps the worst Supreme Court decision since the 1857 Supreme Court case Dred Scott v. Sandford decision which established that African Americans could not become citizens of the United States and could not sue in federal court.
Blue states spent the last four years one-upping each other with bigger and bigger plans to build offshore wind farms that could power the nation into the future.
Now, just three weeks into Donald Trump’s presidency, the question is: What offshore industry?
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy spent years trying to make his state a hub of an industry that would bring factories and jobs up and down the Eastern Seaboard. But on Monday, the term-limited Democrat announced that his state would stop approving new offshore wind projects, a near-terminal setback for projects Trump and other Republicans have long maligned.
The announcement effectively ends much of Murphy’s seven-year agenda to spur a clean energy and green economy revolution in the Garden State and echoes setbacks in New York and California.
It also stymies the aspirations former President Joe Biden had planned for a green future that is more reliant on wind than fossil fuels while handing a victory to Trump, who favors coal, oil and natural gas.
Trump says he wants ‘no windmills’ built during his administration
For the past several years, state lawmakers in blue states and Democrats in Congress pushed through plans to give wind companies billions of dollars in subsidies […]
Even as the coup continues, in Blue states there are continued programs to transition out of the carbon energy era. Here is some good news from California, that debunks for the major carbon energy lies against the conversion.

One of the biggest myths about renewable energy is that it isn’t reliable. Sure, the sun sets every night and winds calm down, putting solar panels and turbines to sleep. But when those renewables are humming, they’re providing the grid with electricity and charging banks of batteries, which then supply power at night.
A new study in the journal Renewable Energy that looked at California’s deployment of renewable power highlights just how reliable the future of energy might be. It found that last year, from late winter to early summer, renewables fulfilled 100 percent of the state’s electricity demand for up to 10 hours on 98 of 116 days, a record for California. Not only were there no blackouts during that time, thanks in part to backup battery power, but at their peak the renewables provided up to 162 percent of the grid’s needs — adding extra electricity California could export to neighboring states or use to fill batteries.
“This study really finds that we can keep the grid […]
Research to improve your healthcare, particularly if you are female, is under assault as part of the “Republican” coup being led by “emperor” Trump, his co-president Elon Musk, and the spineless “Republicans” in Congress. They are going to stop any funding of research that deals with promoting wellbeing of individuals or groups within American society. We are destroying our status in the world. As I look at international publications it is clear the U.S. is now being held in contempt by the other developed democracies in the world. And the Chinese are loving it.
President Donald Trump’s administration reportedly threatened to halt grants for scientific studies that mention words like “female,” “women,” “systemic” or “trauma.”
Darby Saxbe, a professor of Psychology at the University of Southern California, shared a leaked list of words that could cause scientific studies to be flagged by the National Science Foundation.
“This is a crisis for academic freedom & science,” Saxbe wrote. “These keywords could show up in the text of ANY grant involving human participants. If you say you’re going to study men and women, you get flagged. If you say you’re going to control for socioeconomic status – totally standard practice – you get flagged. Disability? Flagged.”
The word ‘systemic’ is on the banned list, so if I study systemic inflammation & health, flagged. If I study political science, flagged. If I study trauma, flagged. Keep in mind that the largest mental health provider in the country is the Veteran’s Administration, but we can’t study trauma now?” she continued. ” If I study anxiety via threat-biased attention, the word ‘biased’ gets me flagged. You can’t design a study of humans without using at least one of the terms on the […]
While the Republican christofascist male dominant coup proceeds climate change, which they ignore, continues and scientists are freaking out. As Bill McGuire, an emeritus professor of geophysical and climate hazards says. “The fact that the latest robust Copernicus data reveals the January just gone was the hottest on record – despite an emerging La Nina, which typically has a cooling effect – is both astonishing and, frankly terrifying.”
Temperatures last month were 0.1C above the record set in January 2024
Temperatures last month were 0.1C above the record set in January 2024. And it comes after a year in which temperatures topped 1.5C, the target for climate negotiations, for the first time. Last month was the warmest January on record, according to new data.
The finding has baffled scientists, who had expected changes in ocean currents in the Pacific to take the edge off rising global temperatures.
Figures released by the European Copernicus climate service show average temperatures around the world in January were 1.75C warmer than before greenhouse gas emissions started to rise significantly in the industrial revolution around 150 years ago.
Dr Friederike Otto, a climate scientist at Imperial College London, warned that the rising pace of climate change would increase the risk of extreme weather and its consequences.

As the Republican coup continues the news reports I see say that Trump, supported by the Congressional Republicans, is seeking to close the Department of Education so that education in the United States can be turned into an indoctrination profit industry. But even before that happens censorship has become a major feature of American education, as this article describes. I don’t think Americans realize how distorted and inferior Republican-controlled states have made the education of their children. It is equivalent to education in Russia, or North Korea.

Aleeza Siddique, 15, was in a Spanish class earlier this year in her Northern California high school when a lesson about newscasts got derailed by her school’s internet filter. Her teacher told the class to open up their school-issued Chromebooks and explore a list of links he had curated from the Spanish language broadcast news giant Telemundo. The students tried, but every single link turned up the same page: a picture of a padlock.
“None of it was available to us,” Aleeza said. “The site was completely blocked.”
She said her teacher scrambled to pivot and fill the 90-minute class with other activities. From what she recalls, they went over vocabulary lists and independently clicked through online quizzes from Quizlet — a decidedly less dynamic use of time.
New data released this week by the D.C.-based Center for Democracy & Technology shows just how often some of that blocking happens nationwide. The nonprofit digital rights advocacy organization conducted its fifth annual nationally representative survey of middle and high school teachers and parents as well as high […]
I got two emails this week from Trump supporters telling me that I am lying to my readers when I say that Trump and the Republicans are destroying the quality of education. That, in fact, “President Trump and the Republicans at the state level are just eliminating all the DEI nonsense and leftist propaganda. Actually, they are improving education to make sure our kids are the best educated in the world.” Okay, let’s deal with some facts. Here is the graduation exam used by public school teachers in a rural Salina Kansas one-room schoolhouse in 1895. You have a college degree, maybe a Masters or Doctorate, take a run at it and see how you can do. Know any 8th graders, ask them to take the exam. Do you see why there once was a time when American public education was considered the gold standard?
What it took to get an 8th grade education in 1895…
Remember when grandparents and great-grandparents stated that they only had an 8th grade education? Well, check this out. Could any of us have passed the 8th grade in 1895?
This is the eighth-grade final exam from 1895 in Salina , Kansas , USA .. It was taken from the original document on file at the Smokey Valley Genealogical Society and Library in Salina, and reprinted by the Salina Journal.
